I'm Scott Swanberg. I fly helicopters for a living, but painting is my other passion.

I grew up in Southern California and learned the art of watercolor from my late grandmother, Margy Gates. She ignited the passion in me to do art. A career in military and civilian aviation sidelined that until recently, and I am rediscovering my talents and passion for painting.

Capturing the natural beauty of landscapes

My goal with my paintings is to capture dynamic natural environments and bring them to life with bright washes of watercolor.

My passion for aviation shines through in my art

I love capturing the color, movement, and technical detail of aviation. Combine that with a striking background and you have a winning combination.

I started painting at a young age, under the tutelage of my late grandmother, Margy Gates, an accomplished watercolor artist and sculptor. She taught me to find the color behind the color in any scene, and how to express that through painting, and I am happy to share my interpretations of beautiful places. My ultimate goal is for each piece to find at least one person who sees it and thinks "I need that in my life".
